Beautiful, blue ice giant planet Neptune is the most distant major planet from the Sun. It also has a very strange orbit larger moon that the moon may not have been born at all. The moon, Triton, is about 1,680 miles in diameter, and has features that are eerily reminiscent of the dwarf planet Pluto–a denizen of the Kuiper Belt. The Kuiper Belt is a reservoir of comets and other icy bodies orbiting the Sun beyond Neptune’s orbit. As if these strong similarities between Triton and Pluto is not enough, Triton revolves around Neptune in a direction opposite to the direction of the planet – and such retrograde orbit, as a rule, show that orbiting body is captured subject!

Neptune is the eighth planet from the Sun and the fourth largest (by diameter). Neptune was first observed by Galle and d’Arrest on September 23, 1846 near the locations independently predicted by Adams and Le Verrier from calculations based on the observed positions of Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus.

Our solar system has eight planets revolve around the Sun in its fixed orbit. Neptune is the farthest planet from the Sun.
