Red Ribbon Week Coloring Pages Printable Images

Red Ribbon Week is an annual celebration that celebrates the life of the late DEA agent Enrique “kiki” Camareno. Schools across the country held special events and activities to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs and encourage children to choose a life without drugs.

Schools take this week to involve students and help them turn their back on the temptation of using drugs through various weekly activities. While each school can choose a different approach, some activities are mandatory.

Students can not see teachers and school principals as experts when it comes to drug abuse. Instead, bring in law enforcement officials, which can fully answer the students’ questions. A first-hand study of how drugs can destroy someone’s life is crucial to teach students that there are better ways to enjoy life.

While teaching students, offer red ribbons for students who sign commitments to be free of drugs. Students will wear ribbons with pride and be encouraged to continue their promise throughout their lives. Games and competitions can be a part of the process of interaction and education of students of peak interest and help them to better understand the value of staying without drugs.

Schools often hold meetings as one of the activities for the Red Ribbon week. Usually games and a speaker are involved. Many school assembly programs also include the participation of students and the participation of teachers.
