The tiger is the largest member of the family (cat) felid. They sport long, thick red coat with white chest and white and black tails. Their head, body, limbs and tails have narrow black, brown or gray stripes. There were once nine subspecies of tigers: Bengal, Siberian, Indochinese, South China, Sumatra, Malay, Caspian, Bali and Javan. Of these, the last three are missing, one extinct in the wild, while others are at risk.

Tigers mainly eat deer, wild boar, buffalo and antelope. Tigers are also known to prey sloth, dogs, leopards, crocodiles, pythons, monkeys and wild rabbits. Old and injured tigers have been known to attack people or pets.

Average tiger weighs about 300 pounds, and the tiger can stretch his body (and tail) of about 4 meters. Tiger can reach speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour, making the tiger extremely fast. The Tigers were even known to conflict with the rhinos and elephants and the tigers usually wins.

White tiger is a rare species with a bright white skin and black stripes, these tigers found a genetic mutation when in the womb of mother. It is not certain that these white tigers will produce white offspring, many white tigers are known to produce a orange cubs.

Today the tiger is almost an endangered species with only a handful still roaming the Asian jungles. Tiger is still completely dominant predator in this environment, in particular, due to their exceptional durability and the ability to run, swim, jump and is very effective to climb trees.
